Notes

This is a concept for a heraldic flag for the office of governor of NJ, based on the arms of Philip Carteret (1st and 4th), first proprietary governor of colonial NJ, and William Livingston (2nd and 3rd), first elected governor of the independent State of NJ. There are a few imperfections in the design: - I'm not sure of how to specify a tincture for the border lines separating the quarters, so they remain gray -the 2nd and 3rd quarters in the arms of Livingston would more appropriately be blazoned "sable between six billets or a bend or", but when the selected shield shape is "flag", the billets do not render. I had to "trick" the program by writing the blazon as "sable nine billets or a bend or" (with the bend covering three of the billets), and made the billets smaller so that the corners of the billets beneath the bend would not poke out -a stylistic preference: I'm not sure if there's a way to remove the shading in the bottom-right corners of the billets. In my opinion, the billets would look much better if they were a flat solid color

If you would like to modify this blazon and see the effects .
