Crest — (which is the design upon the Corporation seal) — Upon a cushion ermine, a lion sejant erect or, supporting between his forepaws a staff argent, thereon a banner azure, fringed and tasselled also or, charged with a castle as in the arms, skirted by a river proper, and thereon in capital letters the word DoN. Motto —

" Confort et Hesse." (Burke quotes it " Son confort et liesse.")
